I started as a telegram boy in Masterton where I learned morse from the local operators and went to the training school in Trentham 1955, from there to Room 53 operating morse circuits to Apia, Rartotonga, Niue, Noumea, etc.

I lost touch after I resigned 1986 (except for a spell at sea for 2 years with Sofrana Lines out of Auckland on a roll-on roll-off vessel Tui Cakao running to the islands) and went into the commercial area where I remain.
